FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Lara was truly amazing there is such a thing as a good death. My 17 year old cat Charlie passed and it was beautiful and peaceful. We don’t always get to say goodbye to our beloved pets in that way. Great experience and company filled with compassion.

We had to make the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye to our beloved pet. What made it even harder was how sudden it all was—an aggressive form of cancer with no warning signs until it was too late. At 11 years old, we were left with no real options, only the responsibility to do what was most humane for her. We chose to have Molly at home, in her favorite spot, surrounded by her favorite toy and the people who loved her most. I truly cannot imagine going through this any other way. Dr. Wolfingbarger brought a level of compassion and calm that helped ease an otherwise unbearable situation. When facing these kinds of decisions, minimizing stress and maximizing comfort—for both the pet and the family—is everything. This experience, while heartbreaking, was handled with such care that it made all the difference.

Thank you Dr Loughmiller. Your compassion and professionalism made a very hard day easier. Max was a big dog and unable to walk. Having the appointment at home made it less stressful on him and us. Our Max Man was a very dedicated and loyal dog. Thankful CodaPet is available for home care.

We had to make the difficult decision to assist our dog's passing. Dr. Peterson was amazing. She described what would happen through each step and allowed us to move forward at our own pace. It was never going to be an easy day, but Dr. Peterson was amazing helping us through the event.

We had the best experience you can euthanizing a beloved dog after 9 years together(he was 13). Dr. Crawford arrived punctually straight from his day job as a vet in the military. He was so kind and respectful, sat cross-legged on the floor petting our dog while my son wept. When we were ready, he gave Ozzy the first injection to put him to sleep. Then again waited until we were ready to give him the injection to stop his heart. Then Dr Crawford put Ozzy on a stretcher and covered him with a cloth, but kept his head showing, and took him to his vehicle. Home euthanasia is so much better then being in a sterile vet environment. We highly recommend Dr. Crawford.

This was the first in home euthanasia and it couldn’t have been more peaceful. Our 11 year old Great Dane (Sally) wasn’t only surrounded by the people that love her but also her partner (Mama). Dr Duncan was incredible and walked us through every step of the process. We cried, told stories, laughed and loved on our magnificent friend. I would highly recommend this alternative service to all and anyone I know that’s beloved pet is reaching the end of life. Thank you Codapet and Dr Duncan❤️🐾🙏🙏🌈
