FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

We lost 2 of the best boys ever yesterday. They were together and at home when Lori came to ease them out of their suffering. She was so kind and thoughtful towards them and our family. What was a gut wrenching day was made substantially more tolerable by her kindness and professional care.
Our beloved dog, Rainy, had a bad fall and hurt himself so badly that he couldn't stand. We were so lucky to have Dr. Anna Peterson nearby. She was able to come to our home that day to give Rainy a peaceful passing. Dr. Peterson was more than kind and caring, she was so gentle with Rainy, and later distracted and played with our puppy so that we could say our last goodbyes to Rainy. I can't say enough about how much we appreciated her kindness and how much it meant to us. It is hard to lose a friend, even if the friend isn't human, and it meant so much to have Dr. Peterson come quickly so that poor Rainy didn't have to suffer, and could pass in his home surrounded by familiar things and the people he loved.
CodaPet and especially Dr. Duncan were amazing when the time came. They worked with us to make the moment as comfortable, relaxing and peaceful as we ever could have hoped for. Immensely grateful for their support.
We highly recommend at home pet euthanasia. Our beloved pet went to sleep peacefully surrounded by her favorite place and people who love her. She was relaxed and comfortable. It made it tolerable for us to say goodbye.I highly recommend it to everyone. We loved our Vet Dr. Jenny Krueger. She was amazing.
My family can’t thank Doctor Natalie enough when it came to saying goodbye to our cat. We needed this service to ensure no stress or anxiety for him and I couldn’t have asked for him to pass more peacefully. I highly recommend this at-home pet euthanasia service to all.
Our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog's health had been steadily declining for weeks. When we came to the gut-wrenching realization that his quality of life and health were so poor that it wasn't fair to him to let him suffer, we knew we had to intervene. When our previous pup reached this point several years earlier, we took her to our vet to be euthanized. It was absolutely awful seeing her for the last time on a vet's sterile, stainless steel table. We didn't want a repeat of that, so we contacted Dr. Lori. Dr. Lori has a beautiful, calming demeanor and reassured us that we were making the right decision. She came to our home so our pup could die peacefully and comfortably, surrounded by family. Having him die at home made this awful experience manageable, and she eased his passing in the most humane way. Our last sight of our pup was seeing him lovingly bundled in soft blankets in the back of her vehicle. He deserved to die with dignity and Dr. Lori provided that. I can't recommend Dr. Lori enough for a pet's end-of-life care.
