FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Jason Doolittle was great in a time we had to make the tough decision to do an in home pet euthanasia for our sweet boy Rio. He was so sweet and nice to our dog like he was his own. He was sincere in his sympathy for our situation, explained everything to us as to what he would do, and what to expect. We had two additional dogs that we wanted to have say good bye to their brother and he stepped out to allow us that time. He came prepared and while the whole process was quick, he gave us the opportunity several times to take any time we needed to say goodbye before removing our dog. Rio was with my husband and I for 14 years and this was the best way we could help him cross the rainbow bridge. We could not recommend Dr. Doolittle and his services enough.
During an incredibly difficult time, I am so grateful for Dr. Karen Duncan and CodaPet. Her kind and patient approach was focused on the most beautiful, and peaceful crossing over the rainbow bridge. We are left with soothing thoughts of our beloved senior cat's last moments. After some sedation was administered, we were able to say goodbye while he was still alert, and our last moments were happy. He was pain free and relaxed. It was peaceful and loving as we helped him cross together. No stress of a ride to the vet, or a scary environment. He was in our arms, in our home with his brother nearby. My biggest fear of his last moment suffering severely or an emergency that could not be de escalated did not happen thanks to the guidance of our vet, and this service. Allowing his litter mate brother the opportunity to see that his pal had moved will help him understand. Thank you for making what could have been a really horrible day, peaceful and spiritually satisfying. Humans should be allowed the same dignity when their time comes. He told us it was time. He was tired. His body could not fight anymore. And we listened. Thankfully we had the best help.
I am incredibly grateful for Dr. Melissa’s kindness and compassion during one of the hardest moments of our lives. From the moment she arrived, Dr. Melissa treated our dog with such love, gentleness, respect, and dignity. Her calm and caring presence brought a sense of peace to an otherwise devastating experience. It was clear how deeply she cares about animals and the people who love them. Thank you for helping our beloved dog pass comfortably, surrounded by love, and for treating our family with such understanding and grace. We will always be grateful.
Dr. Amanda Harper made this transition for us such a pleasant experience under the circumstance. We were losing our baby girl after 17 years. Not knowing what to expect, Dr. Harper came in with just a gentle way about her, and explained everything in detail. She made sure we were all comfortable; covered her with blankets to keep her warm, and loved on her. Dr. Harper treated our baby as if she was treating her own. Dr. Harper is truly a class act, and a Godsend for those having to go through such a difficult time.
Having a Dr. come into our home was the most caring way to put our dog Lily in God’s hands. Lily was napping on our couch when Anne arrived. She got acquainted with Lily, gently gave her something to sleep, and gave us and Lily’s brother quiet time to say good bye. And then she was gone. I would tell anyone who has to make that hard decision, this is the most caring way to say good bye.
It was a very hard decision to make but our dog Carson loved his home and we wanted him to be at peace in his home. Dr.Devlin was kind , courteous and professional and made this as easy as possible. Thank you for that.
