Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Orange, CA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

At home pet euthanasia was the best choice I could have made for my little Harley. She passed peacefully without pain or fear while laying in my arms. Thank you Dr. Noe for your kindness and gentle touch.
For those only interested in a brief review, let me say that Dr. Noe and her assistant, Bill, were wonderful. The entire procedure could not have been smoother or more humane. I cannot recommend this service enough for when you have to say "goodbye". For those interested in greater detail, here goes. My cat, Seamus, was in terminal decline for the past 20 months lymphoma. His last days were grim and I want to think he let us know that he was ready the day of the procedure. Seamus always hated to go to the vet's office, so I researched in-home euthanasia options to see if it was feasible. Once I found the CodaPet website, it was very simple to schedule an appointment for when it was my buddy's time. Dr. Noe contacted me the afternoon before to go over the steps of the procedure and to answer a number of my questions and concerns. I felt very reassured by her answers. The next day, Dr. Noe and Bill arrived slightly early, which I greatly appreciate. Once inside the house, we went over the paperwork and she went through the proceedings again and explained how his remains would be returned to us. We chose to perform the euthanasia outside on our patio, where Seamus liked to lie in the sun. Dr. Noe did a brief exam before administering the sedative. Once the sedative had taken effect, we all went outside to say our "good byes". Dr. Noe and Bill were so kind and understanding- taking numerous paw prints and preserving some of Seamus' fur for us. They even waited for me to give a brief, but tearful eulogy. Then, with my Seamus in my arms, the doctor administered the drug and he passed as calmly and gently as could be. I then held him for a few more minutes while the Doctor and Bill retrieved a padded basket for my Seamus' remains. As hard as this day was, the relief we felt after it was done was tremendous. This is in no small part a result of the care, compassion, and professionalism of Dr. Noe and Bill. They made this procedure as good as I could have possibly hoped. I cannot recommend an in-home procedure enough for the animals you love. It is simply the best way to do a difficult, but necessary thing. You won't regret it.
This was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make in my whole life. But, as painful as it was, I am so very glad that I went with CodaPet to help me send my baby girl over the Rainbow bridge. As the pet parent of an 18 year old cat, I had started to think about whether or not I wanted to do something like this about a year ago and I leaned more and more toward this option because I wanted my baby to go in her own home, surrounded by love and safety. I looked up options and something kept drawing me to CodaPet. I saw that they had a solid 5 star reviews and I can definitely see why. Dr Lisa Fieg was such an absolute comfort. She had such a phenomenal bedside manner and I couldnt have asked for a better suited person for the moment. She helped me get through the hardest day of my life and I couldnt be more grateful. I dont wish this type of moment on my worst enemy, but if you are faced with the decision and are on the fence, please just know that it will be the best decision you've ever made. It is with infinite love and gratitude that I thank Dr Fieg and CodaPet for allowing me to have my last moments with my baby at home.
Dr Daniela has been amazing in this process, she made it very easy for us and we are very grateful for that . She did great explaining the process . She gave us the time and respected that we needed time to process the passing of our boy . Thank you Dr Daniela .

The vet was very passionate and caring when it came to our beloved dog. She provided emotional support in a time of loss of our beloved pet. I would definitely recommend a service again to anyone that needs to say goodbye to their pet.

The work Dr. Lisa does is so compassionate! Thank you so much for all you did for our beloved Joey and for us the people who loved him. You deal with both sides---and you do a wonderful job at both. Again, thank you for the excellent care.
