Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

My motivation to offer in-home pet euthanasia comes from a deeply personal experience and a profound understanding of the bond between pets and their families. When I was a child, my family dog, Missy, was diagnosed with diabetes. Helping care for her during her illness was a pivotal moment for me, shaping my passion for veterinary medicine and deepening my empathy for both pets and their owners. Providing in-home euthanasia allows me to support families in a setting that is both intimate and comforting. From my experience, I’ve seen how much more peaceful and dignified it can be for pets to pass away at home, surrounded by their loved ones and in a familiar environment. This approach honors the special bond between pets and their families, offering a compassionate farewell in a way that truly respects their journey together.

What pet parents are saying

We cannot recommend Dr. Lisa enough! It was a difficult decision to say goodbye to our beloved, Sammy, but she made the visit as comfortable as possible. Sammy went peacefully over the rainbow bridge and for that we are truly grateful. Dr. Lisa never made us feel rushed, we got to spend as much time with Sammy as we wanted to. Thank you Dr. Lisa for your care and dedication to our pets.

Lisa was so kind throughout the whole process. Her empathy and calm really helped us through such a sad time. And the way that the ashes were returned to us with the kind note, heart and the sweet little box was so thoughtful.

We were referred to Dr. Lisa Fieg from CodaPet to perform euthanasia on our beloved golden Oliver. She was very aware of our pain and did everything she could to make it easy for us to endure it. She explained the entire procedure and confirmed that Oliver, based on her experience, was indeed in pain. She made us feel at ease, and to accept the fact that it was the best for him. The process was smooth and tranquil to everyone. It is always sad to say goodbye to a loved one, but Dr. Fieg made it a little less painful. If anyone is in a situation like ours with a beloved pet, Dr. Fieg/CodaPet will help you through the process of saying goodbye.

We recently had to say goodbye to our beloved Boo, and Dr. Lisa Fieg was there to help us through one of the hardest moments of our lives. She was incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate throughout the entire process. Her gentle and professional demeanor made a heartbreaking experience a little more bearable. We are so grateful for the care and respect she showed Boo and our family.

We’ve been rescuing retired racing greyhounds for many years and thus have had to send a number of beautiful dogs over the rainbow bridge. Our latest was handled by Dr. Lisa Fieg with CodaPet and it was awesomely and very lovingly handled. Of all the ways to handle the end of life for a beloved dog, this is absolutely the best. Our Josie was surrounded by her loving family and felt the love as she drew her last breath. Thank you Dr. Lisa❣️
