Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Columbus, GA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

This was such a hard day, but Dr. Lori made it easier and more peaceful. She truly cares about her patients and their families. I'll always be grateful for the way she handled us and the respect she gave to our sweet old girl.
Thank you Dr. Anna Peterson for offering at home euthanasia and being so kind, compassionate, caring, informative and helpful. This was one of the hardest days of my life and I'm greatful my Reina got to pass at home in her favorite spot not at the vet where she was stressed. I will miss my dog forever 😢 💔
Dr. Christina Vernon provided an extraordinary service during one of the most difficult moments of my life. When it was time to say goodbye to my beloved Toby, her compassion, professionalism, and gentle approach turned a heartbreaking experience into one of peace and dignity. From the initial contact to her follow-up care, every interaction with Dr. Christina Vernon demonstrated her genuine understanding of the bond between pets and their families. She took the time to explain every step with kindness, allowing me to focus on my final moments with Toby. The environment she created was calm and respectful, ensuring Toby felt safe and loved to the very end. Her communication after the service has been just as thoughtful—answering questions, providing information, and supporting me through this transition. This level of care, coupled with her willingness to help in every way, speaks volumes about her dedication to her patients and their families. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Christina Vernon to anyone seeking compassionate in-home veterinary care. Her service is a gift during the most vulnerable times, and I will always be grateful for the care she gave Toby and the support she offered me.
November 10, 2024, at approximately 5:15pm, I lost the best cat ever. I rescued a female kitten (2008) that was dumped and in a box. Just went through a divorce (22yrs) and truly feel she was sent to me to not only comfort me, but to give me something to live for. We have been inseparable since. I've had plenty of animals, but there was something about Misty. From day one, she always wanted to go outside. So, one day, I put a harness on her w/leash and at least twice a week we'd go walking around the block. She started to get sick back in April 2024. Even though she was about 15 yrs old, she was always a fighter and wanting to go outside. Finally, I had to decide to put her asleep. It was one of the most difficult decisions in my life. I didn't want to, but knew it was best for her. My neighbor two weeks prior had to put her senior dog down. She called CodaPet, Dr. Kellie Ayle. My neighbor stated Dr. Kellie Ayle was the best and she was right. I wanted Misty to pass at home outside, not a veterinarian office. I called CodaPet, Dr. Kellie Ayle and set up an appointment. Dr. Kellie Ayle came out and my neighbor was right, Dr. Kellie Ayle was the best. Dr. Kellie Ayle was very caring and extremely compassionate. Even though I miss Misty so much, don't think I could have picked a better Dr. to ensure Misty passed knowing she was loved and was in loving arms.
We had in home pet euthanasia with Dr. Christina Vernon on 11-19-24. This was so hard to do, but having it done in our own home where our Last was most comfortable and our other dog can understand and say goodbye to his buddy. Dr Vernon was absolutely amazing, so calm, sweet, understanding and had a lot of patience. Explained everything very well and was just a beautiful person!
Dr Erin was amazing through and through with this entire horribly painful process. She seems truly passionate about her job and treated me and my Annabell with respect and dignity throughout the entire process. I will highly recommend her to anyone in the area going through this difficult decision. The fact that I could have it done at home, versus having to put my girl through all that extra stress, means the world to me. I'm awaiting to get bell bell back , but I'm confident that she's in good hands until I have her back in mine. Thank you, Dr Erin Struble. From the bottom of my heart
