Verified Veterinarian
During my first year of vet school, my 14 year old black lab named Buddy had a suspected stroke. After some intense nursing care and him showing no improvement, we made the heartbreaking decision to have him euthanized. This was truly one of the most difficult times in my life, but having my family and a supportive doctor around me made the experience more manageable. I didn’t really know about in home euthanasia at that time, but I know it’s what I would’ve preferred for Buddy, as he was always anxious at the vet. Providing this service to families in the comfort of their own homes is truly what I feel called to do within this profession, and discovering this option during vet school helped develop my passion for in home euthanasia.

She was extremely kind and helped us understand the process of how everything was going to happen. She interacted with Rusty before she did anything and he was very comfortable with her. I wanted this to be done in our home where Rusty wouldn’t be scared and he could be held during the whole process. As hard as this decision was I’m so glad of the way we did it because he was as in the home he loved surrounded by his family and he was wasn’t scared. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tolbert for her caring and compassion of your pet
Dr. Tolbert was so kind and compassionate with our dog, Cooper. We contacted her after hours because we knew Cooper was struggling so badly and would not make it through the night. Watching him go through that pain was too hard. She arrived at our house within a short time and we were able to send him off in a peaceful way in the comfort of his home. Initially I did not know how it would be putting our dog down in our home, but after this experience I realize it was what we owed to Cooper. He gave us unconditional love for so many years, so being able to say our goodbye to him in a peaceful setting was the right thing to do. We appreciated the kindness and compassion of Dr. Tolbert so much and highly recommend her and this service when the time comes for your pet.
Dr. Tolbert was so kind and considerate. She was timely, lovely, and compassionate. Can’t thank her enough for her compassion during this time!
She was the penultimate professional. From her communication prior to our appointment, through the process of helping transition our pet, and the moments after, she showed care, concern, reassurance and compassion. Anyone who is in need of her services can rest assured they are in good hands.
Dr. Tolbert made saying goodbye to our kitty a surprisingly positive experience, considering how painful it was. She was kind to us and our surviving kitty, who was bonded to the one we had to say goodbye to. She gave us advice on how to help him with his grief, and allowed him to be there so he would understand what was happening. We had our baby's ashes back in less than a week, as well as fur clippings, nose & paw prints, and a clay print. Our urn is beautiful. She shared knowledge about our kitty's cancer and assured us this was the right choice and that he looked great for his age. The peace she provided was well worth it for our family, and we highly recommend reaching out to her when your pet's time comes.
