Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

I have never had to euthanize my own pets in the hospital setting and always want my pet owners to have the same opportunity. Its truly a beautiful peaceful experience though sadness and grief are present. I have found over the years that those who have chose this option, often can move past the grieving experience easier and remember the many happier precious memories together. Being a veterinarian was never a choice but a life calling. I was rescuing injured birds and worms and yelling at my brother for hurting ants as a very young child. Then I experienced the tragic sudden loss of a childhood pet and that solidified my desire to be a veterinarian. I wanted to do all I could to keep pets well and ease the pain of the animal and people who loved them when unexpected events occur. I have never forgotten the empathy and compassion I craved and the immense heartbreak I felt when I lost my best friend so suddenly .

What pet parents are saying

Dr. Silvesti was fantastic! We found ourselves in a dire situation and reached out via the "Urgent Request" option. Dr. Silvesti immediately responded , but then was able to be flexible and work with us on a time that allowed our family to prepare for what was about to happen. During the process she walked us through every step so we knew the what and how. And then amount of respect she showed Benson even after his passing was incredible. Cannot say enough good things about what was otherwise a situation I don't wish upon anyone!

Review by Dr. Lauren Silvesti

On one of the hardest days any pet owner has to face, Dr. Silvesti came through at the last moment, filled with care, love, and compassion. She was very attuned to the situation and my feelings and, as hard and difficult as this moment was, she somehow managed to make it a little easier. I can't express how glad I was that Dr. Silvesti took my call that morning.

Dr. Silvesti euthanized my dog at home. Not only was she caring and gentle with my dog but she was very sympathetic to what I was going through and made the process less stressful for both of us. I would highly recommend her for any stressful situation with your pet.

Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my good furry friend after 13 years. I came across these services online and decided to give it a try. Dr. Lauren Silvesti arrived promptly and did more than enough to help us go through this situation. My pet didn't struggle, as painful as it is, Dr. Lauren explained everything and made everything like it should be. I honestly couldn't ask for more. You know, when loved ones go, nothing is of the concern, but curiosity whether you animal made it to the proper place as promised still persists since you didn't do it yourself. Dr. Lauren did everything as promised, besides going above and beyond during time when we tried to pull our minds together. Thank you Dr. Lauren and I wish you only the best in life.

Dr. Lauren Silvesti helped us through the heart-breaking process of letting go of our sweet, 17-year-old terrier, Brandy, in our home. From our final decision-making up through sending her to Heaven, Dr. Silvesti emanated compassion, understanding and empathy which made the process peaceful and bearable. We couldn't be more grateful nor recommend her more highly. Thank you! Sally Gannon
