Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Ashburn, VA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Saying goodbye to a beloved furry family member is never easy, and this was my first time so I didn't know what to expect. Dr Megan Lowman and CodaPet exceeded our expectations. We booked an appointment within 3 days, received upfront estimate for the cost of services, and a warm introduction from Dr Lowman to assist with any questions. Dr. Lowman arrived on time and was very professional but also warm and caring. She walked us through what to expect, gave our pup lots of treats and pets, and made sure she was comfortable. She gave us our space to say goodbye in the intimacy of our home and I cannot be more grateful for the experience. A few days later, we received a check in from Dr Lowman and the handwritten note that was so thoughtful I have it saved in my memorial of our beloved Lady. I've already been telling my friends and family what a great experience it was, given the circumstances. I would recommend anyone evaluating their pet's end of life care to book with CodaPet, especially Dr. Lowman. Thank you all again for your care during a difficult time.
Dr. Briell Dzierga was wonderful. This was our first time using an in home pet euthanasia service. We never knew this was even an option until recently. We knew we wanted our furbaby, Misty Day, to pass with us at home and not in some strange place she visits once a year. Dr. Dzierga explained the process to us and got to know us. She listened as we grieved and shared stories. She didn't rush us and she helped talk to our 8 year old who wanted to be there, too, to say goodbye to her grandparents cat. She handled all the cremation and transfer details and gave us a sweet pawprint keepsake. She explained everything and all our options for arrangements. No pressure. She was so, so kind. We received a sweet condolence card where she had so much detail on all the personal stories we shared. I would highly recommend her and her services. We loved her! ❤️ Christina, Damien and Esmae Adeline
In a very difficult and heartbreaking situation we were in Dr. Laurie Noe was very understanding and compassionate towards our family and our beloved pet. She gave us the proper time to say our goodbyes to our beautiful Bella. They took good care of her in her last moments. Thank You so much Dr. Noe, our family is grateful for your compassion towards us.
My heart is filled with gratitude for this service. Everyone I spoke with was so kind and Dr. Josh Williams went above and beyond in his willingness to communicate with respect and clear genuine love for animals and their people. Few jobs could rival the emotional challenge of that where one steps in to help create a safe and peaceful end of life and I am so grateful to Josh for being capable and willing to do so. My dog, Shelby, passed peacefully in my arms at home. Josh was both professional and engaged with our experience. He held space for our grieving process and his work was done with so much compassion for Shelby and for us. I think it was easier for the other dogs so they could be a part of the grieving process rather than confused about why their friend left and didn’t come back. The gift of keeping Shelby comfortable at home to help her transition is one that will forever be in my heart and I am eternally grateful. Thank you so very much, Dr. Williams and your team. 🙏🏽
Though it was a devastating choice to make, I'm glad Nala was able to go in such peace knowing we were all at home with her. I can't imagine her last memory being in a vets office in my personal opinion most pets dislike vet clinics. The best thing was she was so comfortable being loved and pampered by all of us. Danelle was amazing and so caring. She made sure Nala was comfortable and gave us the time to say our goodbyes without a rush. I would strongly recommend at home passing with CodaPet ❤️
Dr. Lowman was so incredibly kind and peaceful during her visit. This decision was so hard for our family, but she reassured us we were doing the right thing for our dog. Having gone through this once before, it was exponentially better doing this at home, where our dog was comfortable and we didn’t have an audience. I know this must be a hard profession, but I’m so glad there are people like Dr.Lowman who can help us say goodbye without the added stress of a vet’s office or anxious pet.
