Dr. Amanda Harper has always had a love of animals from a very young age. She grew up in Mississippi caring for family pets and wildlife. Her love of animals and interest in medicine led her to pursue a lifelong endeavor of serving animals and people. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Mississippi State University and went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Batey is originally from the middle TN area. She grew up on a farm in a small town outside of Murfreesboro, TN where she developed a deep love for animals starting from a very early age. Her journey to becoming a vet began when she was 14 years old and took a job at a veterinary clinic, which ultimately solidified her dream of caring for animals and giving a voice to those that cannot speak for themselves. She believes the human-animal bond is one of the most unique and precious relationships we can experience. This belief drives her dedication to providing in-home euthanasia, ensuring that pets can spend their final moments in a comfortable and familiar environment surrounded by love. When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Batey enjoys hiking, swimming, and spending sunny days at the lake. She has three, four-legged children - Gypsy, a 14-year-old Australian Shepherd; Flea, an 9.5-year-old Pitbull mix; and Ruthie, a 9 month old dachshund.
