FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Karen Whala was such a blessing! We are so thankful she came to our home and made us feel at ease with our little Jordan. Thank you for letting me hold her during the entire time. Your kind heart and soft nature made this difficult time more peaceful. Thank you!

I seldom leave reviews but my experience with Dr. Dixon deserves recognition. Her care, compassion and communication was as good as I could ever hope for in that painful time of losing a beloved. Missy is the 4th Dog I have had to make that painful decision with and the transition was made easier with Dr. Dixon's Love and Care. thank you Tim

For those only interested in a brief review, let me say that Dr. Noe and her assistant, Bill, were wonderful. The entire procedure could not have been smoother or more humane. I cannot recommend this service enough for when you have to say "goodbye". For those interested in greater detail, here goes. My cat, Seamus, was in terminal decline for the past 20 months lymphoma. His last days were grim and I want to think he let us know that he was ready the day of the procedure. Seamus always hated to go to the vet's office, so I researched in-home euthanasia options to see if it was feasible. Once I found the CodaPet website, it was very simple to schedule an appointment for when it was my buddy's time. Dr. Noe contacted me the afternoon before to go over the steps of the procedure and to answer a number of my questions and concerns. I felt very reassured by her answers. The next day, Dr. Noe and Bill arrived slightly early, which I greatly appreciate. Once inside the house, we went over the paperwork and she went through the proceedings again and explained how his remains would be returned to us. We chose to perform the euthanasia outside on our patio, where Seamus liked to lie in the sun. Dr. Noe did a brief exam before administering the sedative. Once the sedative had taken effect, we all went outside to say our "good byes". Dr. Noe and Bill were so kind and understanding- taking numerous paw prints and preserving some of Seamus' fur for us. They even waited for me to give a brief, but tearful eulogy. Then, with my Seamus in my arms, the doctor administered the drug and he passed as calmly and gently as could be. I then held him for a few more minutes while the Doctor and Bill retrieved a padded basket for my Seamus' remains. As hard as this day was, the relief we felt after it was done was tremendous. This is in no small part a result of the care, compassion, and professionalism of Dr. Noe and Bill. They made this procedure as good as I could have possibly hoped. I cannot recommend an in-home procedure enough for the animals you love. It is simply the best way to do a difficult, but necessary thing. You won't regret it.

Dr. Krueger was incredibly kind and gentle with not only Kona but with me. She ensured I was thoroughly informed of each step of the process and gave me ample time at each phase to be with Kona. I am incredibly thankful for her kindness and patience, and could not have asked for a more peaceful way to say goodbye.
