Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Salisbury, MD
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

We lost 2 of the best boys ever yesterday. They were together and at home when Lori came to ease them out of their suffering. She was so kind and thoughtful towards them and our family. What was a gut wrenching day was made substantially more tolerable by her kindness and professional care.
Dr. Peterson was the perfect person to help euthanize our beloved Daisy. The process of applying for a home appointment online was seamless. I was instantly contacted through e-mail and able to ask questions about the stages we were going through as Daisy was failing. Gave all of us comfort and peace of mind while our hearts were breaking. I ultimately requested that perhaps she could come even sooner than our designated appointment, and she was able to accommodate us. She was kind, deeply compassionate and committed to helping us and Daisy through the process. She explained in detail the steps that would be taken to release Daisy from her struggles. She helped us provide the best possible passing for our sweet girl. She let us take all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. There was no pressure to buy anything we didn’t want, but choices were offered. Pricing is comparable to what we paid a decade ago and Dr. Peterson drove quite a ways. Cannot thank her enough! I would recommend no other.
Dr. Phillips was much more that someone there to perform a task and be on her way. First she was an awesome care giver to our dog Riley who was suffering with cancer. Dr. Phillips care extended way beyond Riley and included our entire family that had gathered for Riley's passing. Dr. Phillips professionalism was surpassed only by her compassion for all who were there. Thank You Dr. Phillips for being there for Riley and us. Rock & Dana
We had to put down my baby, Tucker of 12 yrs and my husband and I could not have asked for a better angel than Dr. Brielle Dzierga..she showed so much compassion and explained every step of the process. Gave us time in between each step never rushing. 1st time doing this at home and it made the experience easier not only on us but my little Tucker. I recommend this service to any pet owner who considers their pet a part of the family.
Thank you to Dr. Lori Thomas for coming out a day before our scheduled appointment because our cat was in so much pain. Dr Lori made this experience of the passing of my cat smoothly and she was incredibly kind and allowed us time to say goodbye to my cat. I highly recommend Dr Lori and appreciate her so much for coming out.
The experience was more than I could imagine. Dr Peters was very professional and compassionate to my needs and my pet Dixie who was suffering from cancer and was no longer able to get around. Dr Peters rescheduled our appointment and came the night before scheduled to provide the service needed without delaying to give my baby some peace and to avoid any prolonged suffering. She made this experience very pleasant for us both and I know I made the best decision for Dixie. She left here at peace and never knew anything was going on except she was with me giving her hugs and love as she drifted off to sleep. I am very satisfied with her service she provided. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I could have did it without your kindness and true compassion you showed us. Your a great Vet and I recommend her 💯.
