Pet euthanasia and cremation pricing in Newport News, VA
Your credit card is required to reserve your appointment. However, no payment is required until the appointment and nothing is due until the appointment is completed
We charge cancellation fee of $100 if an appointment is cancelled less than 4 hours before the start time. If your pet passes away before your appointment you would not be charged a cancellation fee. If the vet you scheduled is able, and you would like their assistance with cremation, then pickup fee would apply instead of euthanasia fee
Other Consideration
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pets return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.
Extra time or medications needed can affect the total price. Other factors can be if it is decided that it’s not time to euthanize your pet after the vet has arrive. In that case, only the travel fee, platform fee, and a quality of life consult would apply.
FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Phillips was much more that someone there to perform a task and be on her way. First she was an awesome care giver to our dog Riley who was suffering with cancer. Dr. Phillips care extended way beyond Riley and included our entire family that had gathered for Riley's passing. Dr. Phillips professionalism was surpassed only by her compassion for all who were there. Thank You Dr. Phillips for being there for Riley and us. Rock & Dana
CodaPet gave us a gift of peace and compassion during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. Having them come to our home to help our beloved dog Bella pass on was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we reached out, the process was handled with such care and professionalism, which made everything feel less overwhelming. The veterinarian was truly remarkable—so kind, gentle, and incredibly empathetic. She took the time to explain everything, allowing us to ask questions and never rushing us through the experience. Her demeanor was calming, and she treated our dog with the utmost respect and love, as if she had known her for years. Being in the comfort of our home made all the difference. Our dog was able to rest in her favorite spot, surrounded by the people who loved her most, rather than being in an unfamiliar clinic setting. It was serene and peaceful, exactly as we had hoped. CodaPet made this heartbreaking moment feel like a beautiful farewell and gave us the closure we needed. I cannot express how grateful we are for their kindness and expertise. If you are considering this service, I wholeheartedly recommend it. They provided more than care—They gave us a way to say goodbye with dignity, love, and peace. Thank you, CodaPet, for helping us honor our furry family member in such a meaningful way. ❤️🐾
Dr.Erin Struble was an amazing partner in this transition of life. She took the time to listen to all of our stories as we gave Little Dog an Oreo cupcake, just before drifting off to sleep. Dr.Struble was well paced, moved when we we ready, and paid us and Little Dog the highest of all respects for this passing. My sweet girl passed in my arms on her favorite bed from her living room with her family surrounding her. It was beautiful and fitting for my life long companion of 16 years. I wouldn't have had it any other way. My urn was so lovely as well; way nicer than the ones I have had in the past. Dr.Struble was amazing. I couldn't recommend CodaPet enough for at home euthanasia. Thank you 🌈🐾
Dr. Erin Stubble was very caring and professional during the entire process. Losing our beloved Apple wasn’t easy but she made the whole experience better.
My family can’t thank Doctor Natalie enough when it came to saying goodbye to our cat. We needed this service to ensure no stress or anxiety for him and I couldn’t have asked for him to pass more peacefully. I highly recommend this at-home pet euthanasia service to all.
Dr Struble is a very kind and sympathetic person, it was a very emotional time for me but she was very patient and gave me the time I needed to say goodbye to Wooster . I really appreciated her understanding and kindness and I will always be thankful for her help.
