FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Coda Pet was such a blessing for us this past month. We had our beautiful Leyla girl for 14 years and our 3 daughters didn’t know life without her. When we found out it was time we just couldn’t bring ourselves to do it at the vet, we decided she deserved more, she deserved to be at home where she’s comfortable and is happy. I immediately fell upon this website while sitting at the vet crying and it was so easy and seamless to book an appointment quickly and set it all up for 4 hours later. Dr. Daniela was absolutely amazing. She was so professional, compassionate and loving with our baby and with us as well. She talked my kids through it and made us all feel at ease and comfortable with what was going to happen. She allowed my girls to lay with her and hug her through out the entire process. She didn’t rush us and allowed us to take our time. I have never had an experience like that, although it was painfully sad to say goodbye to her, it was very peaceful to see her cross the rainbow bridge in peace and with her babies loving on her. I highly recommend this service to everyone. Price wise, it actually was cheaper for us than the vet by a few hundred dollars. However, the experience and care were priceless. I can’t thank Dr. Daniela enough, she was truly so caring and thoughtful. She hand delivered her ashes to us and checked on us to see how we were doing. Thank you Coda Pet and Dr. Daniela for all that you did and do for our beloved pets.
I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my dog down, and I chose to go with the CodaPet Care team. Dr. April Le Blanc was truly amazing. She was so caring and made me and my family feel comfortable during one of the hardest moments of our lives. She explained everything with kindness and made the entire process feel peaceful and as easy as something like this can be. She genuinely gave off the feeling that she cared, and that we were not just another appointment. She was so gentle with my dog, Little One, and treated him with so much love and respect. I will always be grateful for the compassion she showed us. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Le Blanc. I’ve already recommended her to family and friends. Thank you, Dr. Le Blanc, for making such a painful moment a little more bearable.
Loosing my pet of 19 years was very hard but Codapet made it so much easier! Very kind and gentle with my pet. We will miss her always but a big thank you to Codapet for your kindness!
Dr Alexander Wolfingbarger was so caring and sensitive, and explained everything in detail as she administered the medicine to Willow. I was impressed with her gentle care and concern for Willow and I. This was the first time I’ve used in home euthanasia and would recommend it for anyone going through this difficult process. We gently put Willow on the stretcher and she covered her up with a cozy blanket. Thank you so much! Sandy Donalds
Putting your loved pet, to me a child, was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. But it becomes necessary to end your fur babies suffering. Dr. Laura DuBose came to our home with compassion, kindness and love for our loved one. She gently answered all of our questions and conducted the process with true kindness. No one could ask for a better person to guide you through this difficult time. I highly recommend her and her kind service in the comfort of your own home.
I really cannot explain enough how Dr. Dennis helped us through this difficult time. From the very first point of contact before the visit to ease our hearts, to Dr. Dennis coming to our home shortly thereafter was amazing. In the time of need and heartache she made everything so simple, and actually better when saying goodbye to my boy. Dr. Dennis took the time to explain everything, gave us the time we needed, and was just genuine and heartfelt to my boy, me, and my whole family. I am blessed to have had her support in the worst of times. I highly recommend Dr. Dennis and CodaPet for a comfortable, easy, supportive and compassionate experience. Just how I had hoped myself when the time came. Thank you.
