FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Gonnering was a very gentle, supportive presence while we said goodbye to our dog of 15 years. She described the process very simply and gave us the space and time we needed to be with our girl before, during, and after the process. I would highly recommend her.

Having an in-hom service ito send yourfurry family member over the rainbow bridge was much less stressful for us and for Dax. He passed in surrounded by familiar sights, smells and family and in comfort. Dr. Bailey was great and kept us informed every step of the way and was very considerate and kind with Dax.

Having been through other pet euthanasia situations in the past I can truly say that this is the best way to go. Dr. Ann came to our house and was very kind to us. Our beloved lil’ Sammy (a 14 year old Dachshund) had been ill for quite a while and we needed her suffering to end. She had always been petrified of going to the vets office and this way she had a beautiful calm experience. Dr. Ann gave us the best possible At Home Pet Euthenasia we could possibly get. I highly recommend this service.

We recently had to put our pup Rocky down unexpectedly. This was our first time having to go through this, and we are beyond devastated. I desperately wanted to do in-home pet euthanasia and luckily we were referred to codapet. They had availability and were able to come out in relatively short notice. Dr. Loughmiller was fantastic. She was very compassionate and was able to share her own personal experiences to make us feel better about having to make this awful decision. It was worth every penny to have our boy's last moments be at home and not in a stressful vets office.

Dr. Stern provided the utmost compassion in our home. She was able to provide us all the time needed and prepare us for the euthanasia process. Our 16 year old girl, passed quietly with no pain or fear. It was our last gift to our girl for all the dedication and joy she brought us.
