FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

The experience of having to say goodbye to a beloved pet(s) is very difficult because they are family. Dr. Kelsey Jones with CodaPet made our tough decision bearable. She came to our home and sat on the floor with our dog Charlie and allowed us to take our time to visit and say goodbye in his own surroundings, treats and all. We cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Kelsey for being there for us and sincerely caring. Thank You
Saying good-bye to my beloved cat and having to have him put to sleep was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Margaret was so kind and compassionate. Having her come to my home was truly a blessing. If anyone is ever in this situation, I highly recommend Codapet.
This is hard to write. I never thought I would have to think about pet euthanasia while my dog was still so young but, come to find out, age doesn’t matter when a dog is very sick either! It was more than her time, she was in pain and suffering. I had to do something. I saw an ad for “in-home pet euthanasia “ with CodaPet, the veterinary comes to the house, she was in her surroundings. There wasn’t anything extra scary for her, and she was at peace! They made it easier for us all in a tough situation and Dr. Stradler was Excellent! Thank you
Dr. Danielle Hundley is thoughtful, kind, and very compassionate! She explained every step and provided a calm, comforting presence for Orchid and her humans. I was so relieved to have services provided at home instead of a cold office. Thank you so much!
Dr Shannon was wonderful. As for the personal experience, I was as close to my cat Spudley, as one could be so having to make a decision as that was as hard as it gets. I would recommend the service but do your emotional homework before
Best experience we could ask for. Very smooth and low stress. I also like the online booking and text updates, just made it easier so I could focus on my pet while he was still here. Thank you Dr. Jones, we appreciate you.
