FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Perzak of Codapet was warm, caring and helped us through the loss of our beloved Cobie. This is a wonderful service for us pet owners who don't want to put our babies through any more stress by dragging them to an office. Highly recommended.
I met Dr. Persak years ago when she opened Woodruff Road Animal Hospital, and I remember thinking instantly, “I really like this lady.” She was warm, compassionate, and truly took the time to understand both my dog and me—especially his deep fear of the vet’s office. When the time came to say goodbye to my dog Riley in 2011, I couldn’t imagine putting him through one last stressful trip. I asked Dr. Persak if she would come to our home, and she did. She sat with us, listened to stories, and gave Riley a peaceful, dignified goodbye surrounded by love. That moment stayed with me forever. So when it was time to say goodbye to my second dog, Chubby—who belonged to my late best friend—I knew exactly who to call. I was relieved to find Dr. Persak had started CodaPet, providing in-home euthanasia. Once again, she came with the same grace, compassion, and respect. She explained the process with care, honored Chubby’s life, and gave us space to grieve. These animals are family. In our hardest moments, you want someone who leads with empathy—not profit. Dr. Persak is that rare kind of vet who sees the love and grief and meets it with heart. I can’t recommend her enough.
Saying goodbye to a pet is difficult and painful. The Doctor that came to our house via CodaPet was compassionate and gentle. She got down on the floor with our elderly dog and loved on him just as we do. She explained the whole process and gave us all the time we needed between steps. It was such a blessing for him to be at home in his usual sleeping spot when he passed. I can’t say enough about the ease of scheduling services and the care with which they were administered with the CodaPet providers. A huge shout out to Dr. Kirsten.
When the time came for our final goodbye to our beloved pet, we decided in home pet euthanasia was our best option. We found Dr. Crawford online through CodaPet. CodaPet’s online scheduling made the process easy when talking about it was difficult. CodaPet’s website explained the process and contained information to answer all of our questions. Dr. Crawford’s compassion and calming demeanor was very helpful. We were given as much time as needed to say our goodbyes. I highly recommend Dr. Crawford and CodaPet.
Dr. Allison could not have been more loving and compassionate with our family. The process was so peaceful, in our home surrounded by those that loved her the most! Dr. Allison made a very difficult situation more bearable. Thank you so much!
Dr. Alexandra Wolfingbarger was kind, caring, and just all around a warm presence to have during this difficult time. I'm glad we were able to send Boo off in a comfortable setting at home as she was always stressed with vet visits. Thank you Dr. Wolfingbarger for allowing a peaceful transition during a really difficult time in both Boo's life and mine.
