Dr. Germaine Germundson

Carlsbad, CA

Dr. Germaine Germundson earned her undergraduate degree from MiraCosta College in 2021 and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from St. George’s University in 2026, completing her clinical training at Cornell. Born in Southern California, she spent part of her childhood in Switzerland just outside Zurich, where early exposure to her uncle’s large and small animal practice sparked her passion for veterinary medicine. After years of training and international experience, she is grateful to return to California and serve pets and their families with compassionate care. Dr. Germundson’s path to in-home euthanasia was deeply personal. Saying goodbye to her own beloved dog at home, surrounded by peace and love, revealed the profound impact of a gentle and dignified farewell. Since then, she has dedicated her career to supporting families through life’s most meaningful moments, with a focus on providing calm, personalized, and compassionate end-of-life care in the comfort of home. Guided by empathy, balance, and intention, she believes every pet deserves dignity, comfort, and respect—not only in life, but also in death. Outside of her professional work, Dr. Germundson enjoys traveling, fostering kittens, and spending time with her three cherished cats. Two of her companions, Bug and Amethyst, were rescued as vulnerable kittens and survived panleukopenia against the odds, with Amethyst living happily with cerebellar hypoplasia. Her third cat, Blossom, was rescued as a newborn in Grenada and lovingly bottle-raised. Surrounded by animals who have overcome incredible challenges, Dr. Germundson brings deep empathy and understanding to every family she serves, honoring each pet as a beloved member of the family.
