My mother was the person who inspired me to be a veterinarian. Growing up she was a vet tech and I was always her partner in crime when it came to saving a baby bunny, rescuing a cat or helping a family member with a nail trim for a dog. It was her love and compassion for animals that inspired me. Providing in-home euthanasia was something that always caught my attention since working in emergency medicine. Of all the euthanasias I have done, the hardest thing to see was when owners walked into the clinic with their pet expecting to take them home, but left without them instead. With in-home euthanasia my goal is to have the experience be one that is peaceful, comfortable, and one that owners feel ready for.
