I became a veterinarian because I have always loves animals and deeply cherished the bond we share. Over time, I realized that end-of-life care was one of the places I felt most called—not only because it is medically important, but because it asks for presence, tenderness, and reverence. After my own experiences with grief and healing, I saw more clearly how much these moments affect the whole family, and how often veterinary medicine leaves little room for the emotional and spiritual weight of goodbye. I wanted to offer something more humane and more whole: a way for pets to pass peacefully at home, and for families to feel supported, witnessed, and gently guided through one of the hardest moments they will ever face. That is what continues to draw me to in-home euthanasia.
