Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

As a veterinarian, I often feel that I am of most service to families at the end of their pet's life. I know how challenging caring for an aging or unwell pet can be, and I know how hard it is to say goodbye. The ability to grant animals a peaceful and stress-free death is a privilege. For my own pets, I prefer euthanasia at home when circumstances allow. I offer in-home euthanasia so I can give other pets in my community the same care that I give my own. My goals for euthanasia are to ensure a calm, stress-free death for pets and to be a nonjudgmental, compassionate partner for families facing this decision. We all want the best for our pets. When the best choice is euthanasia, I am honored to help.

What pet parents are saying

The Vet was on time. She was very considerate, professional and compassionate. The process went smoothly and painlessly. My wife and I were pretty emotional and she managed to navigate the process with out any added stress. If you're considering this, I highly recommend this service. My little dog fell asleep in my lap and was snoring her happy sleep snore. And then she drifted away. Way better than in a strange exam room on a cold steel table.

She was the perfect person during this extremely hard time. She came in and sat down on the floor with me and our dog and took the time to ask about her. It really made me feel like she truly cared. She was so kind and empathetic and I would highly recommend her when it comes time to say goodbye to your beloved pet.

Dr Laurie was so amazing at the worst time in my life. She let me take my time saying goodbye to my Sammy. Dr Laurie walked me through every step and what to expect. She was very caring loving and patient throughout the entire process.

It’s always a difficult decision that needs to be made when one sees your once vibrant kitty declining and not doing well. We couldn’t face wrestling with Pickles one last time to get him in a carrier. Instead, we opted for in- home euthanasia. contacting Dr.Laurie Anne Walden from CodaPet . Dr. Walden ‘s soft spoken and calming voice put us and Pickles at ease immediately upon arrival. She was reassuring to all of us and helped us all during this difficult time. She gave us plenty of time to say our goodbyes and handled Pickles with great care. We highly recommend her.
