Dr. Lane Martin had the exact right type of personality for the service he was performing as well as being very quick and sure with the needle so my Nacho barely flinched and didn't even whine. My husband was shocked at how reasonable the bill was. I cried a lot when I realized it was time to make the appointment and doubtless will cry a bunch more but during the procedure all I felt was a sense of relief. Seeing Nacho between the sedative and the final injection just resting comfortably in his final moments meant the world to me.
August 17th was a really hard day. It was Sunday, and my boy Gus had been to the vet that Friday because he was acting just a little off. By Saturday at 1:00 we got the news - late stage advanced renal failure, so in order to feel productive and push aside my emotions for the time being, I scheduled an in home euthanasia for Monday afternoon. I stayed up with him all night, and by 6:00am I knew that trying to hold on until Monday afternoon was no longer the right choice. His condition advanced so rapidly that the thought of moving him and taking him somewhere just felt out of the question - I wasn't sure he could even survive being transported, and for a boy that loved his Vet office so much, I could not bear moving him and taking him some place unfamiliar. After hours of calls, emails, inquiries, Dr. Martin swooped in - he actually doesn't live far from us, and he was able to come around 11:30am. By 12:00pm my boy was gone. It was devastating, it was kind, it was everything that my boy deserved. And, when his remains were ready to come home, Dr. Martin delivered to us so we did not have to go pick him up. It was a gut wrenching, but incredible experience, and has inspired me to look into training to be a Certified Animal Hospice Practitioner so that I can help other families through their experience. I will be forever grateful.

We made a very difficult decision to euthanize our sweet Shorthair Havanese dog. She was 13 years old and we had her since 7 weeks old. We decided that in home euthanasia would be the best option for our family and for Snickers. Dr. Martin brought his calm and caring presence at our agreed time. He greeted us and our Snickers with compassion and consideration for the difficult decision we made. He made us all comfortable with the decision we made and understood that Snickers was ready for that cross over to the Rainbow Bridge. We didn't feel rushed and was able to spend the last moments with her. We have another dog who is 15.5 years old and when his time comes, we hope to make a similar choice when the time is right.
I've never been more impressed with a vet. I tried everything under the sun to get my dog better and I carried such massive guilt over the decision. I didn't know what to expect, as I had never put a pet to sleep before. I didn't know how I'd handle it and was struggling all week at work to avoid crying - I didn't even tell my coworkers so that I wouldn't break down into tears. Dr. Martin immediately made me feel at ease when he arrived. He has such a warm and caring demeanor. He listened so thoughtfully when I talked about my dog and her journey, then helped me to feel reassured in my decision. The night before the appointment, he spent 30+ minutes on the phone with me because I was still questioning whether there might be something else I can do. He listened while I ran through her history from the last two years. When he brought the ashes, he even included such a nice condolence card. I'm just blown away at how smooth of a process this was and how kind Dr. Martin is. If I know of anyone going through this, I will highly recommend Codapet and Dr. Martin. I wish that he/Codapet offered home visits for regular vet exams and routine vaccines. I would definitely pay for that service for my other dogs. Thank you so much, Dr. Martin! It takes a special kind of person to do this work full time and Dr. Martin easily showed he has what it takes. Even though it was a sad occasion, it was a pleasure to work with him.
Our cat went downhill really fast from kidney failure and we wanted to help him pass away peacefully at home. We were able to get a same-day appointment with Dr. Lane Martin, scheduled online. Dr. Martin communicated with us via text so we'd know when he was arriving (he got stuck in traffic, but let us know so we had a few extra minutes with our sweet cat). At our home, Dr. Martin was compassionate and respectful, explaining the process and giving us plenty of time to say goodbye to our cat. He administered a sedative first, and we were able to hold and pet our cat as he peacefully passed away. Dr. Martin then stepped out of the room so we could take the time we needed to say goodbye. Losing a beloved pet is so hard, but I'm extremely grateful that our cat was able to pass peacefully at home. Thank you, Dr. Martin.
Dr. Martin helped our family on one of our hardest days. We needed to book an appointment first thing in the morning and appreciated the simplicity of booking online. After we booked the appointment, it was easy to communicate with Dr. Martin, and thankfully he was able to come to our home even earlier than the scheduled time. He helped us understand what was happening with our dog, and was very kind and clear about what was going to happen when he gave our dog rest. I can't imagine having to bring our cat in a pet carrier to the vet to put her down. Being able to use an in home euthanasia service was very important to keeping our cat calm and feeling loved. Dr. Martin arrived just at the time we expected, explained everything clearly and our dear cat, Idgie, left this world peacefully. It's horrible to have to put your pet down, but I couldn't imagine anyone being more understanding than Dr. Martin. Additionally, Dr. Martin checked in with me the next day and gave me some grief resources.

This was the second time we used Dr. Martin's services. Our dog Bryn was experiencing significant neuro issues. We decided that evening we needed to put an end to any further suffering. Our sweet loving corgi had medical problems we couldn’t correct. Dr Martin arrived at our home, kind, spoke to us. We knew we had no options but to have our Kobe put out of misery. Dr. Lane Martin is exceptionally caring, sensitive, knowledgeable, professional and compassionate. Words can't truly express how special he is. I was having trouble accepting the fact that it was time to put my soul mate dog down. Paris was over 12 years old and her sight and hearing was failing. She was incontinent, and had trouble walking, She would keep falling down due to her weight loss and therefore muscle loss. She used to love long walks now she could only take a few steps before her legs gave out and she fell. She would go up to wall and just stare at it for several minutes. She would go in a tight spot and stay there until I got her out. She was suffering both physically and mentally. As soon as Dr, Martin came in, he gently and caringly greeted Paris. He instantly noticed that she had lost a lot of weight He asked what was happening with her. He patiently listened as I explained everything that was going on. He helped me accept that the kindest thing was to give her peace and the freedom from pain. Thank you, Dr. Martin, for helping me get to the place where I know I truly put Paris first. She was able to pass with me giving her love and her favorite treats.

It was really the best choice I ever made for good 'ol dog Bennie at 19.5 years old. Not only could the closest people to him be close to him in the comfort of his home, but his other fur friends could be there with him as well so they could understand why he left. It was a very peaceful passing and I couldn't thank Dr. Martin enough for his kind and passionate care for my beloved Bennie.
I can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Martin. He was available at the exact time we needed someone to come and he showed so much care for my beloved cat Winter and our family. He was willing to work in a cramped space on the balcony so that we could enjoy the fresh air in Winter’s last moments of life. Her death was so peaceful and she showed no fear or discomfort at all. Losing my Yorkie baby Tank on October 23rd was the hardest thing I ever experienced. Tank was the sweetest dog we had for more than 14 years and he joined our family when he was only 8 weeks. It was a very difficult decision to schedule the appointment with Dr. Martin, and even harder to make the call at the last moment. Dr. Martin was very professional. He was patient and compassionate; explained everything in details and comforted us that we were making the right decision. Tank end up passing on his own. While Dr. Martin was examining him before the injection, Tank knew it was time for him to go. I really appreciate Dr. Martin to be there with us during this difficult time and he even personally delivered Tank (in a wooden urn) back to us one week later. My Little Guy was so very sick. He did manage to crawl out of his bed during his last night and snuggle next to me. He could barely walk, but when Dr. Martin came he did rally for one last snarl. He hated the vet. The only thing he hated more than the vet, was the vet’s clinic. I’m so grateful we didn’t have to take him there. Dr. Martin answered our questions and was able to explain her situation in a caring manner that alleviated some of the pain in saying goodbye. There was a degree of comfort in having him there through the process of her passing. He gave us all of the private time we needed with Sunny afterwards. I highly recommend Dr. Martin to take you through this difficult time.

On our most heartbreaking day, Dr. Lane Martin was the most professional and the most empathetic vet and human. His compassion and care made it so we could focus on saying goodbye to our goodest girl. Our tessa bonita was 15 years old and with us for 14 of those. It was not a choice we wanted to make but Dr. Martin helped us understand we were doing right by our girl. So what could have been grief with guilt about making the wrong choice is regular grief with relief that it was ok to say goodbye. We are so grateful for the humanity demonstrated by Dr. Martin and that this service exists.
Kudos to Dr. Martin Of CodaPet. When he arrived at our home, we all , my cat "Ollie" wrapped a blanket, sat on the porch. He did not rush but talked with us until both cat and I were calm. A sedative made for a sleepy cat, so the euthanasia that followed did not cause him discomfort. I hated to let go, but this was a kindness to a terminally ill cat.

Our cat went downhill really fast from kidney failure and we wanted to help him pass away peacefully at home. We were able to get a same-day appointment with Dr. Lane Martin, scheduled online. Dr. Martin communicated with us via text so we'd know when he was arriving (he got stuck in traffic, but let us know so we had a few extra minutes with our sweet cat). At our home, Dr. Martin was compassionate and respectful, explaining the process and giving us plenty of time to say goodbye to our cat. He administered a sedative first, and we were able to hold and pet our cat as he peacefully passed away. Dr. Martin then stepped out of the room so we could take the time we needed to say goodbye. Losing a beloved pet is so hard, but I'm extremely grateful that our cat was able to pass peacefully at home. Thank you, Dr. Martin.

When Dr Martin arrived, my little guy Barney ran to the door to greet him like he did all guests. He even barked at him, before jumping up to him to get attention. Dr Martin greeted him back, warmly and sincerely. He was playful with Barney while explaining the process to us. Lane made a horrible no win situation more acceptable with his calm demeanor and soothing words. I can't thank Dr Martin enough for helping little Barney come to peaceful end to his life's journey.
It was a heart wrenching experience to have to euthanize my sweet dog Molly because of her serious heart disease. Dr. Martin was professional, Molly passed peacefully at home. A week later, Dr. Martin even delivered Molly's ashes to our home.

Rambo, our precious gentle giant, was losing his battle with bone cancer. Hevwas very affraid of going to the vet, and we didnt want him going through any more stress, so Dr Martin came to our home so that our Rambo could pass peaceful, surrounded by loved ones. He was very compassionate and gentle with him, and he walked us through everything, so that we knew what to expect.
