I grew up with an abundance of pets, reading James Harriot's books, and decided at a young age that there could be no better career than caring for animals. I've loved all aspects of the job from surgery to wellness appointments to intense internal medicine cases. However, after our family lived through my father's diagnosis of ALS, and saw the gentle at-home care provided to him by care givers and hospice nurses, I came to understand the beauty of saying goodbye as a family in the place you feel most comfortable and have experienced the most love.

Dr. Jennifer Dykstra was a God-send to help our beautiful, much loved Labrador Retriever cross the Rainbow Bridge. We are heartbroken to have lost our constant companion of almost 15 years but Dr. Dykstra's gentleness and caring/nuturing nature was very calming to us in the midst of our sadness. Please call her should you need her.
Dr. Dykstra was excellent and our experience with her couldn't have been better. Our Kaci got to pass on with dignity, in her happy place with us and our other pets by her side. I highly recommend this to anyone who has to make the horrible choice to put an ailing pet out of their misery.
We had to say goodbye to our 17 year old dog, Zoey, our first baby, who has been with us since she was 10 weeks old. Making that call was the hardest thing we’ve ever done. Inviting someone into our home for such a heartbreaking moment felt overwhelming… but Dr. Jen walked in with so much gentleness and calm that she immediately made it feel safe. She was kind, patient, and unbelievably compassionate. She explained everything softly, gave us as much time as we needed, and treated Zoey with so much dignity and respect. It never felt rushed. It never felt clinical. It felt like someone who truly understands that this isn’t “just a pet.” This is family. Because of Dr. Jen, Zoe was able to pass peacefully in her own home, surrounded by the people who loved her most. In the middle of one of the worst days of our lives, she was a steady, comforting presence. We will always be grateful for that. If you ever find yourself in the heartbreaking position of needing this service, I cannot recommend Dr. Jen enough. She is truly an angel.
Dr. Dykstra was so compassionate and gentle during the passing of my sweet Rocky. I could not have had a better veterinarian during this difficult time. Thank you Dr. Dykstra
I am so thankful for Dr. Jen and how accommodating she was to our family's needs. Thank you. To anyone looking for the best option - I am certain you have found it in Dr. Jen.
Dr. Jen was so kind. It was so hard for us to have to say goodbye to our sweet little Russell but she was very caring and patient. We chose cremation and we got him back in about a week. The options of urns was nice and we received a very sweet card from Dr. Jen. I would definitely recommend Dr. Jen with CodaPet to care of you.
