Verified Veterinarian
I became a veterinarian because I believe it is our responsibility as humans to care for animals who don't have a voice or much of a choice in their lives. Whether it's a wild animal, a farm animal, or a pet, we humans impact their environment and what happens to them. My mission is to make every animal I care for feel loved and safe in any situation. Throughout my career, I have had to euthanize many animals, which is never an easy thing to do. During this difficult task, I have developed a way to focus all my love and attention on the life of the animal, not the euthanasia. So that in this challenging situation, the animal feels safe and loved during this peaceful passing, and the owners feel at peace with the decision that has been made.

I would recommend Dr. Mitchell and CodaPet to every single pet parent. Having the option for professional care at home is priceless. While letting any pet go is one of the saddest and hardest decisions, it was an easy decision to use CodaPet so my cat could stay at home in her safe space and in my arms until the very end. Dr. Mitchell was so very gentle and sweet to my cat and comforting to me as well during such a difficult time. Highly highly recommend.
Dr. Mitchell was compassionate and professional while guiding us through the process of helping our dog cross the rainbow bridge. Our beloved dog lived to be 17 years old.
Though this situation was sad, Dr Cara Mitchell made the experience so memorable, with a calm spirit and loving touch. Ranger went so peacefully knowing that he was loved by his family as well as Cara. I would highly recommend her to anyone that has to make the tough decision. The in home euthanasia was a blessing to all of us.
Dr. Mitchell, Thank you again for facilitating such a gracious passing experience for all of us. You made every family member feel seen, supported, and loved through a difficult time and decision. Your approach was tender and calming and we will never forget you. You are a gift to all animal lovers.
Dr. Cara was very compassionate & professional. I had never experienced having a pet euthanized . After Dr. Cara talked to us & explained the procedure, I knew I had made the right decision. It was actually a relief when my Bama went to sleep & was no longer in pain or suffering . Thank you for being there for us in a very difficult time .
At a time when it felt like everything was going badly, Dr Cara Mitchell came to the house and made everything just a little bit easier with her kindness ad generosity. It is easy to see she really cares and sees her job as a sacred service to animals and those who love them.
