I have been offering in-home euthanasia in my practice since 2021 and once you've seen it done well its hard to imagine doing anything else when it is possible to choose. Euthanasia is an important moment, it is letting a loved one go where we can't follow. In home Euthanasia is a death, a wake, and a funeral all at once. Euthanasia is a moment of intimacy best suited to the home when possible. It is the final choice made on behalf of a life a family has shepherded and shared in. A moment of this significance deserves to be handled with the utmost care, dignity, and grace in partnership and communication with the family to implement their wishes. It is worth doing this thing as well as it can be done and it can be done very very well. I grew up rurally in South Jersey with my pets as my closest friends. I was very book smart, I loved animals and wanted to help people and so I found a way to help people in what should be one of the nicest parts of their lives: their pets. I pride myself in partnering with owners to make and implement care decisions on behalf of their furry family members. Providing a euthanasia is as important as any service that a vet provides to a pet in their lives and I'm pleased to be able to expand access to this service and standard of care in South Jersey.
