Why I provide at-home pet euthanasia

I was raised on a family farm near Trenton, Missouri. My parents raised livestock and taught me the business of farming. I was in both 4-H and FFA and did chores on the farm. At the county fair I showed the family’s livestock. During my childhood, my family pets were a Siamese cat named Cindy and a Dalmatian named Lady. Always learning, I have studied acupuncture and herbal medicine at the Chi Institute in Riddick, Florida. I believe clients should have choices including holistic services. My goal is to provide the very best conventional medicine and a full menu of complementary services for her patients.

What pet parents are saying

Dr. Roberts was very kind and compassionate. She explained the whole process so there were no surprises. I really appreciated how she gave me and my family several moments to be with my dog as he was ready for his appointment and after. It was with great grace that she took him away after he passed, wrapping him gently in a blanket on a medical stretcher. It was a touching last moment with him instead of something sterilized, medical, conventional, and uncompassionate. I am also grateful she was able to do it in-home to relieve his stress of going to the vet. Dr. Roberts made a heartbreaking moment a little gentler.

We recently made the decision to say goodbye to our 13 year old yellow lab. Due to being blind and having arthritis, getting around was very difficult for her. She was an amazing dog and deserved to be in her own home where she could go peacefully. Dr. Amy Roberts was so gentle and respectful to our sweet girl and to us. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with something that is so heartbreaking.

Dr. Amy Robert's made a very sad and difficult part of life as simple and peaceful as possible. Her professionalism and kindness towards my 18 year old cat and my family was truly appreciated. She made sure every question or concern was answered and walked us through the process. This service was worth while and worth the little extra cost to be sure my pet had the most comfortable and peaceful end of life as she could. I would recommend both this service and Dr. Amy Roberts to anyone who is having to consider end of life plans for their pet.

Dr. Roberts was very knowledgeable about greyhounds and as dedicated greyhound rescuers, that was important to us. It was a nice added plus. She was very kind, had no issues with our other 2 greyhounds. She took her time, made sure we were comfortable with our 15 year old Kenny's passing when the time came. She gave us time alone with him after his passing. It was also important for our other greyhounds to be able to say goodbye too.

It takes a special person to do what Dr. Amy does - not the medical process involved in ending a beloved animal's life, but the grace and compassion with which she handled that process. Even though she is accustomed to fur babies who are near death and to their grieving family members, she treated our Wiley and my husband and I like we were the only ones in the world. She is caring, calming, gentle and patient. The empathy she showed us helped make our sad day much less painful.

Highly recommend Dr. Amy Roberts with Coda Pets for compassionate and humane in home euthanasia for pets. Dr. Amy was soft spoken, caring and respectful toward our dog and my son and me. Our dog, who was normally fearful around strangers, was very calm with Dr. Amy. The anesthesia took effect quickly, in about a minute. We couldn't have asked for a more peaceful scenario to say goodbye to our beloved pet.
