At-Home Pet Euthanasia
Schedule a licensed veterinarian to provide a peaceful passing for your beloved pet in the comfort of your home, surrounded by loved ones.
Initial Contact
Your vet will reach out to you prior to your appointment to answer any questions you may have and address any special circumstances or concerns.
At-Home Assessment
Your vet will make an assessment of your pet’s health and quality of life to provide guidance to ensure your decision is informed.
Pre-Medication
The veterinarian will administer an initial sedative or anesthetic to help your pet relax and become pain-free, ensuring they are comfortable and at ease.
Euthanasia
The veterinarian will first ensure your pet is fully sedated before gently administering anesthesia which will quickly slow down your pet’s respiratory system until the heart finally stops beating. In most cases, this process takes less than a minute.
Travel Fee
This reflects the cost associated with the distance a licensed vet will need to travel should your location fall outside their regular service area.
Platform Fee
A small percentage of the total supports vets with non-medical items, allowing them to spend more time caring for pets.

Pet Weight
The size of your pet determines the amount of medication needed to provide a peaceful passing as well the cremation services, if you select any.
Large Pets (over 24 lbs)
Each licensed veterinarian determines their pricing and weight limits. Large pet fees may apply.
Cremation and Keepsakes
The cost will vary based on your choice of cremation services with or without your pet's ashes returned. A variety of keepsakes are available depending on your cremation selection and vet.

Questions you may have
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any applicable travel fees, and a platform fee. Depending on your preferences, additional fees may apply for cremation services or memorial keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will carefully confirm your preferred aftercare option with you. If you choose cremation, your vet will manage your pet’s gentle transportation to a local crematorium. If your selected cremation service includes receiving your pet’s ashes, your vet will clearly explain the process for returning your pet's ashes and provide an estimated timeline for their return.
You have the option to have your vet respectfully transport your pet to the crematorium. Depending on your preference, your pet’s ashes can either be lovingly returned to you or respectfully spread with other pets.
Note: If you choose to have your pet’s ashes returned to you, your vet will coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes at the time of your appointment.
We allow cancellations at no fee to you for appointments canceled more than 4 hours before your start time. If you cancel your appointment less than 4 hours before your appointment time you will be subject to a cancellation fee of $100.
Your vet reserves time in their schedule exclusively for you, so we ask you to cancel as soon as you are able so that your vet may help another family in need.

If your pet passes naturally before your scheduled euthanasia appointment, you may cancel at any time prior to your vet's arrival without incurring any fees. If you'd still like assistance arranging transportation for cremation, you can request your vet provide a deceased pet pick-up and cremation services.

Yes, your vet will offer a variety of meaningful memorabilia you can purchase if you choose to request the return of your pet's ashes. After selecting your vet and preferred cremation option, you'll have the opportunity to review and choose from available keepsake options. You may also find comfort in exploring our suggestions for pet memorial ideas.
Note: You may also choose to add the memorabilia or change your mind about your choice at the time of your appointment.
In the case of wanting a private burial, if your city/county regulations allow, you can choose to bury your pet. Please check local regulations to see if this is legal in your area.
If you want to bury your pet in a cemetery, you will need to choose and make arrangements with a local pet cemetery before the euthanasia appointment. Please be sure to let your CodaPet vet know if you have planned for such a burial.

If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of a friend or family member. When your vet contacts you prior to your appointment, talk to them about options and limitations, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pet's return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet will coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.

I recommend Dr.Dover 1000%! I had to put my baby boy Romeo down after 16 years. He was with me when I was 19 and I’m now 35. He was 9 months old and a rescue when I rescued him in 2009. May 1st 2025 is the day I put my baby boy (Yorkie) to rest so as you can probably understand I wanted to make sure he was comfortable and he was able to pass in the comfort of his own home. I was hoping that he would pass away on his own but his Vet said that it was time. I called around to a few places for at home euthanasia but my heart just didn’t feel right until I found Coda pet. I was a little nervous because it wasn’t just putting a pet or animal to forever sleep, it was putting one of your family to forever sleep. So I didn’t know if bringing in a stranger would stop me from giving up the best goodbye and I didn’t want to hold back, but the moment Dr.Dover walked through my door I felt a sense of comfort and relief. She was very thorough, kind, patient and talked me through each step of the way. During the process she would periodically check in to make sure that me and my family were ok. She gave us a safe space and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to help take my baby boy over the rainbow bridge. He passed away peacefully in my arms. She let me know it was ok if I took hours or even just minutes to say goodbye. I didn’t feel rushed, judged, or scared. She talked to Romeo like he was a person and not just some animal. She was so compassionate and definitely made me feel like I was doing the right thing. she validated me and made any guilt I felt, go away. Dr. Delia's kindness, compassion, and empathy throughout the entire process turned a devastating decision and event into one where I was able to hold onto some peace, both throughout the process and after. She was so sweet and loving to my dog throughout, and although I chose for it to be just me and my boy, her caring presence made me feel like I wasn't alone. Dr. Delia made the entire process so much easier and I am so grateful that she was recommended to me. Losing your loving companion is never easy, but having someone there by your side who's compassion truly makes you feel seen in all your sadness makes the process a little easier. Saying goodbye to a furry family member is NEVER easy. Being able to allow them to go without suffering in the comfort of their home is amazing. Dr. Hart was very professional and friendly and was able to make this event much easier. Dr Hamid’s care of us, Xochi’s K9 sisters, and most importantly of Xochi was exceptional. She came to our home and spent quality time with us. She did a complete assessment of Xochi. Her advanced age and associated health challenges were just too much for our Sweet Xochi to have to endure any more. Then when we were all ready, she helped our Xochi with the most peaceful, compassionate “passing on” that I have ever witnessed (K9 or human). I am a retired nurse and lover of rescued K9’s all my life, so I have witnessed many. I felt that the hug she gave us after it was all over was truly a genuine one. In summary, Dr Hamid was an Angel of Mercy for Xochi and our family. I would highly recommend her care to everyone.
