Initial Contact
Your vet will reach out to you prior to your appointment to answer any questions you may have and address any special circumstances or concerns.
At-Home Assessment
Your vet will make an assessment of your pet’s health and quality of life to provide guidance to ensure your decision is informed.
Pre-Medication
The veterinarian will administer an initial sedative or anesthetic to help your pet relax and become pain-free, ensuring they are comfortable and at ease.
Euthanasia
The veterinarian will first ensure your pet is fully sedated before gently administering anesthesia which will quickly slow down your pet’s respiratory system until the heart finally stops beating. In most cases, this process takes less than a minute.
Travel Fee
This reflects the cost associated with the distance a licensed vet will need to travel should your location fall outside their regular service area.
Platform Fee
A small percentage of the total supports vets with non-medical items, allowing them to spend more time caring for pets.
Prices are determined by your location, travel, size of pet and service fees set by verified veterinarians near you.

I contacted CodaPet for in home pet euthanasia for my cat. My cat had lymphoma and though he had been doing well he suddenly 'crashed' overnight and was very much in distress. Dr. Bonnie Goldthwaite responded to my same-day request, and was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and caring through the whole process. My cat is/was very afraid of strangers, and Dr. Goldthwaite called ahead and we discussed how to best handle the situation; I appreciated this so much, and it worked out perfectly. Dr. Cory Korsgen has been incredible with both of my dogs. Her genuine passion for animals really shines through in the way she interacts with them, and it’s one of the main reasons I keep coming back. She’s amazing at reading their body language and understands their individual personalities, which allows her to tailor each visit to their unique needs. I have a cocker spaniel who is anxious and a german shepherd that's more rambunctious, and she handles both of them with patience and care. Thanks to her calm demeanor and ability to build trust, my dogs feel comfortable with her, even in stressful situations. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a vet who truly understands and loves animals!

Dr. Katie Elder, is so wonderful. She helped me through on of the hardest times, with in home euthanasia for our cat. She also is our dogs primary care. Helping my fur baby cross the rainbow bridge was one of the most difficult, gut wrenching choices I had to make. With the help of Dr Erin Scaglione and CodaPet, they made this day as comfortable as possible not only for me and my family, but for my sweet beautiful boy Harley. Harley was 11 years old, and in recent months his health started declining and I knew I would need to make a very difficult choice soon. I reached out to several veterinarians, inquiring about in-home euthanization and to gather as much information as I could, to try and prepare myself, but to be honest, you are never ready for this. CodaPet took the time to explain all the options, and showed extreme compassion, taking the time to explain everything and answer all the questions I had. I wanted Harley to be as comfortable as possible, in a surrounding he was most familiar with, with the people that loved him, I knew In home euthanization was the BEST option. Dr Erin was so caring and compassionate when she arrived, especially to my sweet boy. At that point I knew we were in good hands. Cupcake had been sick on and off for about a year, then one morning she got up and something had changed - she was in obvious pain. It came on very quickly and very strong. While searching on the internet, I came across Codapet. I made an appointment and Dr. Dzierga, who reached out almost immediately. Knowing she was a vet and able to answer any questions I had was amazing. She let me know what to do and what she would be doing. Cupcake over the next 24 hours got worse and, I could not imagine even trying to get her out of the house to go to her regular vet. Dr. Briell Dzierga came, and the home care final process became a beautiful experience. Considering what the process is, and to be able to say it was a beautiful experience, says a lot. I would have paid double, knowing my love one started her new journey to the other side in such a peaceful loving way while at home. Thank you for everything.
My kitty of 20 years got to cross the rainbow bridge in my arms free of pain. Im not sure why anyone would ever do anything other than in home euthanasia. Highly recommended!
Dr. Lisa Fieg was extremely supportive and helpful during this time for us. It was a very tough time having to put down our beloved dog. She arrived well prepared, gave us our moments to grieve and say goodbye, and was very gentle throughout the whole process. Wouldn't have done it any other way.
The death of our dear Kuyper was difficult but made so much easier and less stressful by Dr. Lori Thomas. She is amazing in her thoughtfulness, caring, and respect for us and our sweet boy. He was actually happy to see her as she was a guest to our house and he received all the attention he loved while we discussed his end of life passing and prepared to ease him from his pain and difficulty breathing. She sat with him and petted him and provided so much caring. He was not stressed at all. He passed peacefully and we all felt his escape. She also was so gentle and respectful with his remains as she tucked him into a soft basket with a fuzzy blanket around him. It was the most beautiful experience, and we have never felt so eased by the process before. We have needed to euthanize several dogs over the years and it has never been this beautiful. I worked in hospice in my career and it reminded me of what we always tried to achieve for our patients. We are so grateful to Dr. Lori and CodaPet for offering this amazing service. We cannot say enough good about it. We thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.

We really cannot say enough kind things about Dr. Lauren Rexing. She made such a tragic time bearable and was extremely compassionate and caring. I only wish she could have been our vet for our sweet girl prior to having to do the at home euthanasia. I was so very thankful we were able to let our girl go at home in her place where she was at peace. Dr Whala an answer to my prayer as I am disabled and was at a loss on how to help my suffering boxer boy. I couldn't take him to a vet. So grateful she came to my house and in the comfort of my loyal boy was assisted in crossing the rainbow bridge. The good doctor was so gentle and compassionate towards my boy and to me in such an hour of distress. She truly has a vacation for God's creatures and a spirit of loving respect us humans too. On a very difficult day Dr Hart was so supportive, compassionate and professional. She informed us of the process answered all questions and let us set the timing to ensure our Clohe was as comfortable as possible. That was what was most important to us. She reassured us that we made the right decision at the right time for our Clohe bug.

I have no words for how gentle and kind Dr. Crawford was with our Enzo as he passed. It was one of the hardest days of our lives but Dr. Crawford made us all feel comfortable and secure. I recently had to say goodbye to my 15 year old pup, Emma. It was an extremely difficult decision. Dr. Briell Dzierga came by and sat on the floor with us while we went over our options. She was so kind and understanding, and reassured me that I was acting in the best interest of my elderly and ailing dog. I miss that pup so much, but I am at peace with how that morning played out. Dr. Dzierga was patient and accommodating, and I could not have asked for a better person to be there for my dog's final moments. She did everything with such care and dignity. She explained to me everything that would happen and answered all of my questions. I'm grateful for her calm presence in what was a very emotionally charged situation for me. I'm also grateful that we were able to be at home instead of stressing my dog out with the unfamiliarity of the vet's office. Dr. Dzierga then followed up by sending the nicest condolences card a few days later. I will recommend this service to everyone I know with an aging pet, just so they know who to call when the time comes.

Dr Andrea was amazing, distracting us by asking the family nicknames for our dog, as well as his favorite toys/activities! She explained what was going to happen & asked permission. I especially loved that she gave us a green light to give him ANYTHING he wanted to eat for his last moments. It was a heartbreaking decision made a little easier by her compassion.

What a beautiful experience Dr. Glenn brought us, in a very sad moment, when we chose to have our almost 20-year-old cat euthanized at home. As seniors, with an old cat who never liked to go to the vet, we did not want to traumatize the kitty or ourselves with such a trip. First, it was a relief that an in-home pet euthanization could be done. Second, Dr. Glenn was a wonderful person to help us and our cat through this difficult time. His calm, quiet, empathetic manner was a blessing. He carefully explained everything that he was going to do, told us how the cat should respond to each step, and answered every question we had with professionalism and understanding, but also with caring. My wife got to hold the cat, in comfortable, familiar surroundings, while he was tranquillized, and then got the drug “cocktail” that euthanasia involves. Whiskers slipped very peacefully away. We were relieved that he was no longer in any discomfort. It was a very close and touching moment that Dr. Glenn helped us through. Our final moments with our beloved pet assured us that we had done the right thing. For your pet’s comfort and your peace of mind, have no doubt that CodaPet’s program is an excellent choice.

Bentley wasn't scared and she worked around us and talked to us to help keep us at is. This is not something anyone wants to go through. I made a last-minute appointment when my 14-year-old cat 'crashed' due to cancer. He had been doing well, but in the space of a day just suddenly went downhill and was obviously in his last hours. My vet had recommended a couple in home pet euthanasia services, since my cat is very fearful of strangers and taking him to a vet or hospital would have been extremely traumatic. I contacted Codapet and was able to schedule Dr. Bonnie Goldthwaite for the same day. Dr. Goldthwaite called ahead to review the process, listened to all my concerns, and helped work out a plan to mitigate the stranger-fear. She was prompt, knowledgeable, and kind at a terrible time. She explained the process before we started, and kept me informed through every step. The icing on the cake was the sweet wicker basket and homemade blankets she wrapped my sweetheart in to take him away. I will definitely recommend this service, and Dr. Goldthwaite, to anyone who finds themselves in this situation. It's awful to go through, and having a goodhearted guide makes a huge difference.
I cannot imagine a better way to go about this process. Dr. Marisel and Lynn could not have been more professional and supportive. They took care of our good old man, Calvin, and ensured he was comfortable, relaxed, and at peace. A very sincere thank you for all that you did!
We chose Dr. Lori to do our at home euthanasia with our 14 year old doggie who was ready to cross to the rainbow bridge. Dr. Lori was very professional, patient, caring, had a very calm presence, and you could tell Dr. Lori has lots of experience. She is extremely good at what she does and I feel so blessed she helped us with this difficult time:( I have referred her to many and will continue to refer her. Thanks Lori!! xoxo

Our dog Zelda just declined so quickly. It was so nice to be able to do this at home, her happy place, her home. Dr Hart was just so lovely and caring and helpful during this time. And a week later, our pups ashes are home with us. Thank you for helping us Dr Hart.
She was very comforting and made an extremely difficult situation easier than expected. Explained the process before hand and while each step was taken. When we rescued Chapo, we knew he would only be around for a Few years, we never expected it to be less than two. While, it was an extremely difficult decision to make I knew he was suffering and at the same time knew My family and myself had given him more love in two years than he had experienced his entire life. She was very understanding and supported the extra family friends that we had present and made my sons choice to leave after the serum and before the lethal Injection much more comprehensive to him. Highly recommend.
Roxy went peacefully and in her favorite spot on our bed, at home. It was gentle, quiet, and the best thing we could have done for her after she gave us so many years of love. Dr Krueger was wonderful, explained everything, and gave us space to grieve.
Dr Keyser is one of the kindest and compassionate vets I have met. She made the saddest day easier than I could ever imagine. I have had many fur babies and have used several vets in Columbus over the years. This was the first time with euthanasia. Thank you so much Dr Keyser for taking care of Oscar and myself. I sure do miss him so much! All of my family is so appreciative that you took such good care of us.
Our cat Ella, took a turn for the worst and went downhill quickly suffering from irritable bowel disease. Choosing in-home pet euthanasia was equal parts the worst decision we had to make and the best decision we could make for Ella. Dr. Bonnie Goldthwaite was able to come to our home the same day and provided so much comfort during an obviously distressing time. Ella was calm in my arms while the injections were done and we sat with her for some time afterwards. It's been nearly a week and while we're still sad that part of our family is gone, we're so grateful to Dr. Goldthwaite for helping us at such a difficult time.
