Initial Contact
Your vet will reach out to you prior to your appointment to answer any questions you may have and address any special circumstances or concerns.
At-Home Assessment
Your vet will make an assessment of your pet’s health and quality of life to provide guidance to ensure your decision is informed.
Pre-Medication
The veterinarian will administer an initial sedative or anesthetic to help your pet relax and become pain-free, ensuring they are comfortable and at ease.
Euthanasia
The veterinarian will first ensure your pet is fully sedated before gently administering anesthesia which will quickly slow down your pet’s respiratory system until the heart finally stops beating. In most cases, this process takes less than a minute.

Questions you may have
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment.
You have the option of choosing to have your vet respectfully transport your pet to the crematorium and either have their ashes returned to you or have them respectfully spread amongst other pets.
Note: If you choose to have your pet’s ashes returned to you, your vet will coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes at the time of your appointment.
We allow cancellations at no fee to you for appointments canceled more than 4 hours before your start time. If you cancel your appointment less than 4 hours before your appointment time you will be subject to a cancellation fee of $100.
Your vet reserves time in their schedule exclusively for you, so we ask you to cancel as soon as you are able so that your vet may help another family in need.
Note: You can cancel or reschedule your appointment on your booking confirmation page or find a link to it in your booking confirmation email.
If your pet passes before the euthanasia appointment, you may cancel your appointment at any time before the appointment at no fee to you. If you would like to still request transportation of your pet to a crematorium, you may request your vet for a deceased pet pick-up and cremation services.
Note: You can cancel or reschedule your appointment on your booking confirmation page or find a link to it in your booking confirmation email.
Yes, your vet will offer a variety of memorabilia you can purchase if you choose to request the return of your pet's ashes. Once you select your vet and cremation choice on the next page, you can view your options.
Note: You may also choose to add the memorabilia or change your mind about your choice at the time of your appointment.
In the case of wanting a private burial, if your city/county regulations allow, you can choose to bury your pet. Please check local regulations to see if this is legal in your area.
If you want to bury your pet in a cemetery, you will need to choose and make arrangements with a local pet cemetery before the euthanasia appointment. Please be sure to let your CodaPet vet know if you have planned for such a burial.
Note: Your vet can only assist with cremation options, and does not handle burials of any type.
If you have a larger pet, your vet may need the help of one friend or family member. Talk to your vet about options and limitations when they reach out to you prior to your appointment, and they will inform you of any extra cost for your situation.
Options for your pet's return home and memorabilia depend on your local provider. Your vet will coordinate the return of your pet’s ashes and let you know if there are additional fees for urn delivery.

Dr Greta was truly amazing. My dog Flynn was a 14 year old yellow lab who recently began to decline the past few months. With the difficult decision to put your best friend down, Dr Greta truly gave us the opportunity to give the last selfless gift to Flynn in the comfort of our home. We gave flynn the last best day here on earth and then decided to make the call. Dr Greta was so understanding and comforted us throughout the process she also spent some time with Flynn petting her and talked to us about the beautiful life she had here with us for 14 years. As hard as it was, I also felt comfort in knowing flynn was comfortable in her own home with her family surrounding her and with dr Greta. We cannot Thankyou enough for all that you have done, when dr Greta left our home an hour or so later I found a small vile with Flynn’s hair placed in the vile with a card offering condolences. Truly amazing, again Thankyou ! The process after with receiving the ashes as well went so quickly.
This is the second pet we have had to put down in 3 months. CodaPet is a wonderful alternative then taking to a vet. Pet is in home and comfortable. While it's an unimaginable task for owners Codapet makes the transition a lot easier. Thank You CodaPet
Despite how sad it was to have lost my dear kitty, Alicia made the whole process feel more special and comfortable for everyone. I could tell she took her job seriously and really cared to go the extra mile to help us in such a hard time.
"A big thank you to Dr. Whala for her help when I needed her. She was prompt, courteous, professional, friendly, and caring. She explained everything to me beforehand and during the procedure. I finally got to hold this stray cat I had been feeding for 3 years, but wouldn't let me touch him. That meant a lot to me."
Dr. Anna Peterson I can not thank you enough for helping my fur son Ceazer cross the rainbow bridge into heaven/ next life! Your diagnosis of what was happening was hard for me to process and accept. With your words you made me see what was right and what he needed me to do for him. My boy was holding on for me and I needed to set his body free to fly high above in the sky! I appreciate you and the hard job you have knowing you are doing the correct thing while hearing hearts break. Well mine did that day and you gave me respect and I thank you! Forever grateful. Rest in peace and comfort my 16 year and 1 day old Boston Terrier Ceazer puppins💝forever in our hearts.
Dr. Frary made one of the most difficult moments a little less difficult. She was kind, honest, compassionate and provided my family comfort in a very difficult time. I would recommend her and this process to anyone in need of this service.
