FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr. Lisa made the experience as good as it could possibly be, and CodaPet was extremely easy to book and pay, so everything was done ahead of the appointment. Hopefully I won't need their services for a while, but I won't hesitate to use again.

Dr. Elizabeth Parks is an absolute gem. She had fantastic communication - she reached out right away to let us know she would support us however we needed and was flexible when we decided to move the time up a bit sooner. She was so gentle and easy to talk to, and we really felt like we were in great hands. I’ve had to use services like this twice now in just under three years and codapet really went above and beyond my expectations. Hopefully I won’t need to use a service like this again for a long while, but I know who I’ll use when I do need to reach out.

The veterinarian was able to come on a weekend when our dog with cancer rapidly declined on Friday and we decided we did not want to prolong any suffering. She was incredibly kind and patient, especially with my children who were heartbroken over the loss and attended. Highly recommend for anyone seeking this type of home care. It was a peaceful and pain free process.

Quite simply, Dr. Josh Williams is an angel among us. And was literally a God-send when we found ourselves with the realization that we needed to provide our old gal Maggie with release from her suffering when her body could not keep up. Our preference was to say our farewells in our home. Her time came over a three-day weekend and we were so thankful to have found Dr. Josh. He was able to meet us at our home within Maggie's schedule and was so kind and compassionate. He explained the process to us, and we were by Maggie's side the entire time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Josh Williams with CodaPet should you find yourself in this situation.

We used Coda Pet for our dog. Dr. Stadler was absolutely wonderful, she made a a very difficult experience as smooth as it possibly could be. She was a wonderful communicator and was very conscientious of ours and our children's final moments with our sweet dog.

During such a difficult time, this was the best experience I could have asked for. The response time exceeded my expectations, communication throughout was professional, informative and delivered with care. I appreciate what you did for my sweet Ashbe and to already have him back home with us is a blessing.
