FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Our little guy Tucker, was almost 18 years old when we knew after several seizures, it was time for us to call Codapet. We had used Codapet 3 years prior for our other dog, Kolby. Dr. Sarah Clem came out and she so very nice, compassionate and even listened to our stories about Tucker and his long life we had with him. Tucker went very peacefully. Thank you Dr. Sarah.

We recently had a beloved dog pass with the help of CodaPet. It wás very easy book the vet and the time. Dr. Cassandra Lewis contacted us through out the day reassuring us of her commitment to the time we chose and offering to answer any questions or concerns with the role she was going to serve. She was extremely professional and caring towards our pet and us . When the time occurs again, and it undoubtedly will as we have multiple pets,we will with out questions use the service again!

Our old boy had reached the end and we made a painful decision to help him over the rainbow bridge. The service provided a rapid response at short notice and a very sympathetic visit. Our vet visited on time , walked us through the home experience and conducted it with the utmost respect and professionalism, she also dealt with a late change of plan without missing a step. My dog remained stress free and even my wife and I felt a lot better than at a strange vet. Thoroughly recommended for those pet parents who are wanting a respectful and stress free end for their pet. I’m sure my boy is in a better place, chasing rabbits and eating prime rib every day.

Dr. Cassandra came to our home and helped our beloved dog pass peacefully. She was kind, compassionate, and clearly understood our grief in the moment. She knows how to help people and pets during this most difficult experience. We'd recommend her to any family with a pet that is suffering toward the end of life.

They were very compassionate. Just sitting on the floor guiding us during the process. They helped us deal with the fact that we did make the right decision. So warm and comforting. They were able to make time to come to our home when we needed them. They took care of all of the details for us. I would highly recommend Dr. Ayala.
