FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Dr Michele Sims could not have been kinder or more understanding during the at home pet euthanasia for our pup, Bodie. She answered our questions and explained every step of the procedure as she went along. Our other pup was present during the euthanasia also. Dr Sims calm, compassionate manner helped make for a peaceful transition for Bodie which was reassuring for all of us. At such a sad time, knowing that Bodie was in Dr Sims caring hands was a source of comfort.

This has been one of the hardest things I've had to do. I was already having a hard time watching my dog decline as fast as he was and had found codapet from a animal rescue person on Facebook. I saved the website in order to look at it later on. My husband had commented that my dog was not looking good and that it was better to have a vet send him off then us finding him rotting away somewhere in our backyard. It was only because of my mom that I was able to do this for my fur son and send him off in a painless way. Dr. Sarah Clem was wonderful, she gave us options to store his ashes and I had already purchased an urn that I felt that was a good fit for my fur son's ashes. She gave us a paw print in a little case of his paw and was supportive to me and my husband throughout the whole process. He is no longer in pain and despite how much it hurts my heart, I know that it was the most loving thing I could do for him. It takes 3 weeks to get his ashes and she will contact us and hand them off to us when she gets them. Thank you Dr. Sarah Clem for sending my fur child off to the rainbow bridge where he can do laps for as long as he wants.

This was sadly the second time in just over a year that we needed Dr. Struble's services. I can't say enough great things about having a Vet come to your home when you have to make the decision to let your cherished pet go. There is no travel stress for you or your pet. They are able to be in familiar, comfortable surroundings. Dr. Struble is kind and very gentle. She has chosen to provide a difficult, but essential service and I thank her profusely for it and the way she handles it.

Dr Dixon made saying goodbye to our beloved pet a *little* less painful. The fact that she had a weekend evening appointment available so we didn’t have to transport her to an animal hospital but instead were able to keep her home and comfortable was a huge relief. Dr Dixon was very kind, informative and patient.

Layla was a travel companion, a family member, a walking buddy and my "baby girl". She was a 16 year old terrier mix. She loved to play ball, cuddle on the couch and eat broccoli. Layla had Mast Cell cancer and when she experienced pain, I knew it was time to comfort her. We agonized over the decision and decided the best way to honor her life was to have Dr. Cat come to the house. Dr Cat's calm, compassionate & friendly demeanor was a pleasant surprise in an otherwise painful situation. Layla was given a sedative and then put into a deep sleep before the final shot was given. Layla passed away peacefully on my husband's lap.

One of the hardest days we knew would be coming soon with our old man Cloud(14 yrs young) but ofc we thought we had more time. We're new to the area and had yet to establish a vet when his life quality declined over a matter of days. It's Saturday evening and Brick & Mortar vets are closed for the weekend. The emergency services have astronomical costs and an unfamiliar place/people sounds a terrible way to go. Thanks to CodaPet that wasn't necessary. I filled out the forms and requested an appt for the very next morning. The vet reached out and we spoke about expectations and questions. When the time comes and your facing the hardest decision I can't recommend them enough. Dr. Houck came to our home and patiently helped make the transition comfortable and familiar instead of a cold impersonal Dr's office. My old man laid in his favorite spot surrounded by his family as he passed. He deserved no less.
