FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

The woman who helped us, Dr. Elizabeth Parks, was incredibly kind and compassionate. She made an incredibly difficult day feel as peaceful as possible and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our dog Elle. We’re so grateful for her care and would recommend her if and when you have to make the hard choice for your pet.

I highly recommend CodaPet, and Dr. Colleen Meuse. A complex process made simple. Online scheduling was easy and accommodating for my families needs. Dr. Meuse followed up with text/email through the entire process. She was gentle & loving with our cat. We are forever grateful for her compassion care and service.

Dr. Dewitt helped us through an extremely sad and difficult time. She was professional but caring. We were able to make an appointment the same day, concerned that our boy would not have to suffer any further. She explained everything during the process and made our dog, and us, comfortable throughout. She made a terrible day a little better.

Our older cat declined quickly but we did not want to take her into an office causing her more stress. Dr. Patterson came into our home going as slow as we needed her to, she was patient explaining every step of the way with us. She gave us space to say goodbye. She sat on our kitchen floor with us during this hard time and made it less awful. She was great, she let us share the stories we needed to share. She validated our decision making process with this tough choice. Thank you.
