FAQs

The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.

During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment

Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.

It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.

Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.

You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

Our little 18 yr old Yorkie Poo was declining. She was having difficulty walking and getting confused. We opted for in home euthanasia. We wanted her home when she passed. We were all on the deck with her, her happy place. As hard as it was, being home with the entire family made it easier. She was surrounded by all those who loved her. Dr D Alexandra helped us say goodbye to our beloved Sadie Lynn. Thank you Dr Alexandra.

I didn’t want to bring my dog to the vet, as she was always very anxious in that environment. Being able to say goodbye at home meant she could remain comfortable and at ease in familiar surroundings. Dr. Karen Duncan created a calm, compassionate, and peaceful experience for my 12.5-year-old dog. I’m grateful for the care and dignity she provided during such a difficult moment.

This was sadly the second time in just over a year that we needed Dr. Struble's services. I can't say enough great things about having a Vet come to your home when you have to make the decision to let your cherished pet go. There is no travel stress for you or your pet. They are able to be in familiar, comfortable surroundings. Dr. Struble is kind and very gentle. She has chosen to provide a difficult, but essential service and I thank her profusely for it and the way she handles it.

I scheduled an appointment with Codapet for Dr. Jessica Mumm to come and euthanize my cat, Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina had terminal cancer and had taken a turn for the worse on May 11th, when tumor started to bleed. Dr. Mumm was able to come the same day. She was very compassionate and told me in detail what she would be doing and how the procedure would work. She asked about Wilhelmina and I felt she had a good understanding and sympathy for my cat. During the procedure Dr. Mumm made a point to give me as much time to say goodbye to Wilhelmina as I wanted. Dr. Mumm was very gentle with Wilhelmina and displayed great warmth to her. Wilhelmina, who has always been very frightened of strangers, remained calm with Dr. Mumm, which made the experience much easier for both Wilhelmina and myself. During the actual procedure, Dr. Mumm handled Wilhelmina as gently as she would have handled her own cat. The euthanasia procedure was gentle and peaceful. I was so glad that Wilhelmina got to pass from this life so easily. Knowing that was the case has made the my grieving process easier. I am so glad that Dr. Mumm was able to give my Wilhelmina a good death. I would recommend Dr. Mumm for her warmth and expertise to anyone who wants to give their pet a respectful and gentle passing.

Sarah was wonderful and supportive in this difficult time. She accommodated all of our requests for Lilly's last day. She was very kind and gentle, explaining the process to us, making sure any questions we had were answered, and giving us the time and space needed to say goodbye.

Still too raw or hurtful to even try to describe the pain of putting our Tut down… That being said Doc was professional, kind, Understanding and there was absolutely no time frame which she was operating on other than ours. I couldn’t suggest any other way or any other doctor more strongly. Thank you
