FAQs
The total cost includes the in-home pet euthanasia service fee, any travel fee (if any apply), and a platform fee. Additionally, depending on your choice, fees may apply for cremation services or keepsakes.
During your appointment, your vet will confirm your aftercare selection with you. If you choose to arrange cremation services, your vet will oversee your pet’s transportation to a local facility for cremation. If your preferred cremation option includes the return of your pet’s ashes to you, your vet will discuss the process to reunite you with your pet's ashes and the anticipated time frame during your appointment
Yes, upon arrival the veterinarian will assess your pet. This can look different than an “nose to tail” examination in a clinic setting and will focus more on the pet’s history and quality of life.
It is not uncommon to have doubts about whether the time is right. If you’ve taken the Quality of Life Questionnaire and are still unsure, we recommend consulting with your family veterinarian before scheduling an appointment.
Rest assured, if you book an appointment, your in-home euthanasia veterinarian will let you know if they do not believe that euthanasia is appropriate at this time.
You can expect your veterinarian to be in your home from 20-60 minutes, depending on how much of that time you need or want throughout the process.

CodaPet gave us a gift of peace and compassion during one of the most difficult moments of our lives. Having them come to our home to help our beloved dog Bella pass on was the best decision we could have made. From the moment we reached out, the process was handled with such care and professionalism, which made everything feel less overwhelming. The veterinarian was truly remarkable—so kind, gentle, and incredibly empathetic. She took the time to explain everything, allowing us to ask questions and never rushing us through the experience. Her demeanor was calming, and she treated our dog with the utmost respect and love, as if she had known her for years. Being in the comfort of our home made all the difference. Our dog was able to rest in her favorite spot, surrounded by the people who loved her most, rather than being in an unfamiliar clinic setting. It was serene and peaceful, exactly as we had hoped. CodaPet made this heartbreaking moment feel like a beautiful farewell and gave us the closure we needed. I cannot express how grateful we are for their kindness and expertise. If you are considering this service, I wholeheartedly recommend it. They provided more than care—They gave us a way to say goodbye with dignity, love, and peace. Thank you, CodaPet, for helping us honor our furry family member in such a meaningful way. ❤️🐾
Our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog's health had been steadily declining for weeks. When we came to the gut-wrenching realization that his quality of life and health were so poor that it wasn't fair to him to let him suffer, we knew we had to intervene. When our previous pup reached this point several years earlier, we took her to our vet to be euthanized. It was absolutely awful seeing her for the last time on a vet's sterile, stainless steel table. We didn't want a repeat of that, so we contacted Dr. Lori. Dr. Lori has a beautiful, calming demeanor and reassured us that we were making the right decision. She came to our home so our pup could die peacefully and comfortably, surrounded by family. Having him die at home made this awful experience manageable, and she eased his passing in the most humane way. Our last sight of our pup was seeing him lovingly bundled in soft blankets in the back of her vehicle. He deserved to die with dignity and Dr. Lori provided that. I can't recommend Dr. Lori enough for a pet's end-of-life care.
We highly recommend at home pet euthanasia. Our beloved pet went to sleep peacefully surrounded by her favorite place and people who love her. She was relaxed and comfortable. It made it tolerable for us to say goodbye.I highly recommend it to everyone. We loved our Vet Dr. Jenny Krueger. She was amazing.
Dr. Lara Allison was so kind, comforting and professional. She made a terrible event a very beautiful moment for our family. Her experience and knowledge helped us to feel calm and have final moments with our Lucy.
Dr Orth is always very kind and compassionate. This is the 3rd dog we have compassionately euthanized with her. She makes a very difficult situation as comfortable as it can be. We never felt rushed and she made time on her off day to help our fur baby cross the rainbow bridge.
Thank you to Dr. Lori Thomas for coming out a day before our scheduled appointment because our cat was in so much pain. Dr Lori made this experience of the passing of my cat smoothly and she was incredibly kind and allowed us time to say goodbye to my cat. I highly recommend Dr Lori and appreciate her so much for coming out.
